Andrea Macleod Art
Andrea MacLeod has always been captivated by the human face. From a young age, she could be found with a pencil in hand, sketching portraits and studying expressions. Her passion led her to fulfill a childhood dream when she joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and trained as a Forensic Artist, specializing in facial reconstruction and composite sketches.
In 2015, Andrea founded her art business as a way to transform her love of portraiture into a more personal and therapeutic practice. While her forensic work required accuracy and detachment, her studio art offered the freedom to explore emotion, memory, and the stories etched into each subject’s face.
Alongside her passion for human portraiture, Andrea has always held a deep love for animals and the natural world. Her artistic practice expanded to include wildlife and pet portraiture, where she captures the spirit and beauty of animals in their natural form. Whether depicting the soulful gaze of a beloved companion or the quiet strength of wildlife, Andrea brings the same level of care and connection to these works as she does to her human subjects.
Today, Andrea’s work is a powerful fusion of technical skill, emotional depth and dynamic color. Her portraits—of both people and animals—are not only precise in form but also deeply expressive. Through her art, she creates space to honor identity, celebrate connection, and preserve the stories that live within every face.
