The Purple Turtle Art Festival held at the The Briars Resort, Spa and Conference Centre in Jackson's Point on Lake Simcoe. The Briars is located on the south shore of beautiful Lake Simcoe, approximately 45 miles/72 kilometres north of Toronto,

Here are routes for guests travelling from Greater Toronto, Mississauga and Pearson International Airport.

From Toronto, there are two routes:

In the summertime, it is a pleasant one hour drive north on Highway 404/Davis Drive/Markham Road. In winter, the trip takes a little more than one hour.

Summer 2010 directions to avoid construction on Woodbine at Keswick,
starting early May:

Highway 404/Green Lane/Woobine Ave.

Hwy 404 is the northern extension of the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) starting at Hwy 401.
Take Hwy. 404 north to Davis Drive, Newmarket.
Turn right (east) on Davis Dr and drive 9.1 km to Markham Rd (Hwy 48).
Turn left and travel north 23.2 km to Sutton.

Turn left onto High St. (north) and travel 1.2 km to Dalton Rd.
Turn right and follow Dalton Rd. 2.1 km to Jackson's Point.
At the second stop sign, Lake Drive, turn right.
At the stop sign, Hedge Rd., turn right.
Drive 200m to The Briars gates.

Travel Markham Rd (Hwy 48) north to Sutton.

Turn left onto High St. (north) and travel 1.2 km to Dalton Rd.
Turn right and follow Dalton Rd. 2.1 km to Jackson's Point.
At the second stop sign, Lake Drive, turn right.
At the stop sign, Hedge Rd., turn right.
Drive 200m to The Briars gates.

From Mississauga:

In the summertime, it is a pleasant 75-minute drive going north from Mississauga on Highway 407/Highway 404. In winter, it is an equally scenic trip, taking just a little longer.

Using toll route: Hwy. 407 ETR* east to Hwy. 404 North.
No toll route: follow QEW east to Hwy. 403 East, to Hwy. 401 east, to Hwy. 404 north.

Continue Hwy. 404 north to its end (Green Lane, just north of Newmarket).
Turn right (east) to the traffic lights (Woodbine Ave.).
Turn left and travel north on Woodbine.
Past Keswick, follow the main road around a big curve. You are now on Base Line.
Continue until the road ends at Dalton Rd (Sutton).

Turn left (north) and follow Dalton Rd. to Jackson's Point.
At the second stop sign, Lake Drive, turn right.
At the stop sign, Hedge Rd., turn right.
Drive 200m to The Briars gates.

* ETR - Express Toll Route - No stopping and no coins required. Your license plate is recorded on entry to the highway and you receive an invoice in the mail; all charges are in Canadian funds.

From Pearson International:

In the summertime, it is a pleasant 75-minute drive from the airport using major highways. In winter, it is an equally scenic trip that may take a little longer with good roads.

As you leave the airport, follow the signs to Highway 407 ETR east. Follow the instructions given above for Mississauga.
